BUILT TO WIN!

Updated: Jun 12, 2020

When we think about success or the goals that we set out to achieve usually we visualize the journey specifically the way we want it to go. Obstacles, setbacks, closed doors, detours and failures don’t even resonate in our minds. Most times we don’t physically or mentally prepare to do anything but WIN so facing challenges do not make our priority lists. Maybe that is why so many fail to get back up after a hit, a failed marriage, an illness, losing a home, a parent, a child, going bankrupt, or possibly a combination of losses as we have had during the pandemic of COVID-19 and the world experiencing yet another killing of an African-American. While it is totally understandable that some losses are not planned for or controlled and we know that some hit harder than others, they all change us! The concern is the comeback. Reflecting on what the experience taught you about you ask the question if the end goal(s) will be different based on your current experience? How has it changed your journey and the destination you were pursuing? If it has, in what ways?

The truth of the matter is we all want to cry, yell, tear up and quit sometime. We all have felt like we were going to fold as well. The pressures of life come barreling into us and it becomes overwhelming sometimes to the point where it feels like desperation. WE are human and most definitely subject to FEEL! Although that is fact, emotions are a strong and very influential factor in decision making and actions so BEWARE! No one is free and clear from emotions being overwhelming at some point and time during the course of your journey but work through them. Balance is KEY!

Inquiring minds want to know, can you be committed to the process of what you are doing without being emotionally attached to the results of what you are doing? In other words, if you don’t get what you thought you should get, in the way you thought you should get it, are you still committed to continuing the work? The question is posed as the reason why a lot of people don’t get results or become who they want to be is because they are too attached to who they have always been or by getting things their way. Sometimes life will slap you in your face and force you to show what you are made of. Sometimes it may even make you change course. That does not mean you won’t get to the destination or the end goal may not be the same. Maybe there is something you need to get so that when you get where you are going you can handle it. THE TIME IS NOW and Right NOW I ask that while the smoke is clearing you stay committed, courageous, keep your tenacity and move purposefully even when the path makes you feel detoured. WORK ON WINNING.....IT'S A MOVEMENT.....KEEP GRINDIN, STAY FOCUSED AND ALWAYS TEE IT UP!
